Can anyone recommend a cheapish 17'' TFT good for games thank you
PCWorld have a 10ms Iiyama TFT reduced from £299 to £199 in their 3 day sale, model number E435S, product code 141357.
Picked one up yesterday it's stunning.
yes so did i the kids love it the game they were playing half life was so dark on the old monitor even with the controls turned right up they found it hard to play, now they can see where they are going. still had £299 on the price in PC world but when i asked them the guy came back and said yes it should be £199 bargain. Thanks
If only I had the cash to buy one instead of just recommending it.....
I bought one also the other day and am not too impressed so far I find the brightness on it seems too much and turning the contrast and brightness setting only makes it looked washed out. Turning the gamma on it to mode 2 seems to make it too dark so i'm wondering if anyone has tryed the DVI connection to see if that helps?
Ordered one anyway, credit's such a wonderful thing, especially at £4.75 a month direct from Dixons!
I was going to ask about DVI too, does it come with a DVI cable, or will I need to buy one seperately? 9800 Pro's got a connector, so I may as well make use of it.
no it doesnt come with a DVI cable broona just the standard VGA one unfortunately. I know ebuyer do the DVI cables at about a tenner which is better than what pcworld were charging (£50)
Just ordered one of these off Ebay for £3 delivered, looks ideal.
Wow nice price, might have to get one of these ordered
I am using DVI, much sharper than the VGA cable. To get the brigtness down use the OPQ function depending if your playing games, or using word etc. Have you tried adobe gamma utility?
Typical PC world trying to suggest a cut price bargain when the same item is available from many other places at a cheaper price
Also check out the Aria TFT's from (funnily enough!) Aria. 17" (16ms) is about £140 at the minute I think - I know of 3 people (myself included) who have opted for them and all are very pleased
19" Digimate L-1916D TFT with DVI
£165.00 exc, £193.88 inc.
Have a look at this
As I didn't end up getting the Iiyama, I've just ordered the Digimate from Aria. £211 delivered includibg a dead pixel check, will pass comment on it soon.
