Hey Ross, is this the one that has the detachable HDMI connectors and USB for external power? If so, are all connectors included?
Hi Adam, Yes it has 2 detachable usb powered HDMI bobbins that clip on to the fibre cable. It doesn't come with a usb power supply but the old iphone chargers are perfect - can supply if needed.
Thanks Ross. I'm in two minds about this... I currently have a 1080p PJ, but will likely upgrade to 4K in the future. The distance from the source to the PJ is going to be around 10m, and have read that most standard cables over 8m won't do [email protected] properly. The thing is, HDMI 2.1 is around the corner, so part of me is saying wait before buying a cable for future requirements. I tell you what... I have £90 in PayPal credit, so could offer that if you could include delivery to the mainland?
HDMI 2.1 is not just around the corner, nothing will have an HDMI 2.1 video board in it for another year and you won't have anything that will exceed 18gbps from any source by then either. It's just not on the cards at all - HDMI 2.1's biggest benefit is that it will help the stuff that doesn't work very well at the minute. HDCP isn't being revised and EDID is dependent on hardware manufacturers having up to date tables. Putting it simply, you will need a source and display that can exceed 4:4:4 @ 60FPS - the only thing I know that will do that will be an 8K source & display, which is miles away and about 30 kabillion quid. I'll ship it for £100 if you can find a tenner from somewhere. Cheers.
I do have 25 kabillion quid squirreled away in an off-shore 'tax haven' account, primed and ready for the Japanese to start shipping those 8k panels to blighty, so will be upset if they end up being 30 kabillion! Anyway I think I can nick a tenner from the kids lunch money, so will accept your counter offer Send me a PM at your convenience...
No worries.. but probably easier to sell the actual children - some people look down on that. PM incoming.
Cheers, but the CSA are the people that chase escaped Dad's for maintenance money? So I think you mean the NSPCC [emoji6]
@adam-burnley You are correct Sir, I bow to your superior knowledge of children's welfare regulatory bodies!
