American eagles are around £18 - £19. Then 20percent vat is added.

I'm asking 16quid a coin which has to be a huge bargain!!!! Do you reckon?

Begonia - try and add that one random coin of their choice to your basket then go to checkout. You have £13.39 plus £6.38 VAT. Plus £18.50 del.

Again with the Austrian phil it's £20.80 plus del.

You can not escape paying 20% vat on silver bullion in the country.

C_dodd1985 - for the moment I'd see if they sell as a whole.

I would have to pay VAT on top of the Net price from a VAT Registered seller but it is surely illegal for someone to charge me VAT on top of the Net price when they aren't VAT registered?

I can't get over the fact, that buying silver coins such as these for investment purposes from a merchant seller costs me an additional 20% VAT on my purchase. When I come to sell, I can't pass that charge on because I'm not VAT registered and so I have to stand the VAT paid either as a loss or persuade someone to 'moneterise' the VAT element and let me charge them the Net price at an inflated 120% to protect my loss.

    Hmmm?

Hence my low offer of £150 for all of the coins.

Just a quicky... if someone is not VAT registered then they cannot charge VAT...it is indeed illegal.

Just watching the bidding on the coins.... interested

Yeah I'll take them for £230, only thing is I am currently offshore and need a phone signal to set up a new bank transfer. I will not be back onshore until Thursday evening so will be unable to make payment until then. If you sell them in the meantime that's no problem.
