Alex, Welcome back, has it really been that long.

Actually we've all gone back to WinDVD 2.3 and Geforce graphics cards. :p

Only jocking, there are some very nice things to try out. On the hardware side the Radeon 9500 and the XCapture TV card are very good.

For software, the obvious one is Theatertek 1.5, this should show a nice improvement over 1.2. Recently we have seen a reclocker filter which takes care of any micro stutter issues you might be having. Dscaler is now up to 4.1.5 which support new cards like the H3d and the XCapture cards.

Well maybe not since I posted but certainly since I did anything to my system!
Is there an Event™ on the horizon?

Thanks for the info - kind of nice to know not much has changed. I'd heard about the Holo3dgraph card but the Xcapture had slipped under my (admitedly broken) radar.
I'm on the case (mail has gone out to Horsham-IT).
I've never been quite happy with my dscaler picture especially with consoles so this might be what I'm looking for.

I'll look for more info on the Radeon 9500.

TT1.5 seems reasonably priced - I wonder why I didn't get an email from them. Ah well, I can sort it now.

    Are we anywhere nearer PVR?
I can't bear to pay Murdoch any more money for Sky+

    Cheers for the update
    Alex

Yes there is an Event on the horizon and one of the things I hope to do at it is a sort of in depth HTPC talk with poss some hands on stuff. There is also some special stuff I want to do with our old friend Richard A and I hope to meet up with him for a discussion about it while I'm at Bristol...
