I'm now perfectly familiar with the broadcast format changing between programs and occasionally within them. My LCD has 4:3, 14:9, 16:9, Cinema, Subtitles, Super and Auto formats, and its quite easy to select the desired format for any given program when viewing direct from the aerial.

However, when TV is viewed through MCE 2005 you are limited to only three options. This does not present a problem when watching 4:3 or 16:9, which will fill the screen in the vertical axis (with black side-bars) and full screen, respectively.

But 14:9 is a different matter, it is presented in a 'letterbox' within 4:3. It is not possible to increase the view, as in 'direct view' with the small black side-bars, without going to full screen and the concomitant distortion.

Is there a solution hiding somewhere :lease: .
