I use the Rotel RMB-1075 power amp which has a 12v trigger at the back with In and Out 3.5mm jacks. The pre amp is the Marantz AV9000 which has a "Remote Out" rca jack at the back. Is it possible to power the amp using a rca to 3.5mm cable. If there is another way of doing it that doesn't require me to get up everytime I want to switch the amp on I'm all ears :)

    Regards
    Phil

The remote out jack on the back of your Marantz sounds more like a connection to allow multiple units to share remote or IR commands.

Eg, connect a Marantz DVD player and you could put it out of sight but still have the IR commands routed via the processor.

As it stands I don't think you'll be able to remotely switch on the Rotel with this setup.

    Anyone else know any different?
