12 channel amps <$1000

    hi

    any suggestions for a 12 channel amp for around $1000?

    i was looking at a speakercraft, but can't seem to find out if this is a quality brand or not.....thanks

    Have a look at Xantech - They do a 12 channel amp for this sort of money - running at 35w/channel. Can be switched so you can have 70w/channel if required (ie 12 x 25w, 6 x 70w, 1 x 70w & 4 x 35w etc)

    Has 12v remote trigger as well (for IR control)

    Does it have to be a 12-channel amp or could you use 2x 6 channels?

    Are we really talking about 1000 USD or was that a type and it's £1000? Are you in the UK or elsewhere?

    Anyway ... if it's UK and £1000 ... how about 2x Rotel RMB1066 (6x 60wpc)

    Speakercraft is a good brand, they do very good custom install products, I assume that is what you're using the amp for. However, as Darren points out, Xantech do a decent 12 channel amp and I can say I've never seen a Xantech product go faulty, ever, in my expirience. This may be different in other people's expirience but I'd rate Xantech as one of the most reliable brands I know.
