The bulb for my Sony VPL-VW10HT has just died, and I want a new one ASAP......

I've contacted atul1 who has supplied bulbs to these forum members in the past. He has no 10HT bulbs in stock, but suggested I would be fine to use one designed for the 11HT as it is basically the same. His price seems very competitive and he will fit the unit for me.

I'm looking to get it fitted tomorrow afternoon, so I'd be very interested if anyone could reply before then re. if there could be any problems in doing this. I have seen mention that the 11HT bulb is designed to last longer than the one for the 10HT. If this is the only difference, that sounds good to me. I will be tweaking the projector with "SMART II" and a CC30R filter, so I guess that would take care of any slight difference in colour balance.

Atul, I'm sure you keep your eye on this forum. I hope you don't mind me posting this. I'm certainly not questioning your judgement, its just I'd like to hear from anyone who may have done this in the past. Also, it would be great if you could reply to this thread with any relevant info you have on this.

    Cheers,

    Richard

Lamps for the VW10HT and VW11/12HT certainly have different part numbers so I'd expect them not be 100% compatible. There were a number of changes between the 10 and 11 concerning bits like this, to improve the projector so it's not something i'd take a risk on.

I believe they have a different fitting of some sort, so they won't actually 'fit' properly.

    Hi,

I don't know if you have found a replacement bulb, but I have one spare and I am going to upgrade my VW10HT soon, so wont be needing it.

Let me know if you are interested?

    Regards
