    For 10m you could use Bettercables in the power buy section, or if you want to risk import duty (might still work out slightly cheaper) you could use BlueJeans. If you hunt around you might be able to find similarily capable cables for less, but it requires a bit of effort...

    Both are good for 1080p at that length so will easily handle 720p/1080i.

    For that price you want a cable that will do 1080p, but the one you linked to is only specified to 720p/1080i, so I'd say its overpriced (you can get a similarily capable cable for ~£50, see current thread on HDMI in hi-def player forum).

    For bluejeans do a google search for 'bluejeanscable' I think the second link will be their sight.

    Just thought I would clarify why the range of Supra HDMI cables do not carry the 1080p compatible status.

    Jenving Technology AB, the manufacturers of Supra branded HDMI cables, are an official HDMI Adopter company and as such strictly follow HDMI compliance testing.

    You may be surprised to hear that there isn't an official HDMI.org 1080p certification process which is why Supra do not claim there cables are compliant.

    As an indication to Supra's commitment towards certification it's worth noting that the Supra HF100 HDMI/DVI cable is the worlds FIRST "branded" Digital Video Cable that has achieved FULL HDMI Approval, in lengths up to 10 metres carrying HDTV at 1080i resolution. The Approval was carried out at Silicon Image Approved Testing Center and FULL CERTIFICATION was signed on 2nd November 2005.

    Supra HDMI cables are officially untested with regard to 1080p, though as 1080p hardware becomes more prominent we (Got to hav) and I'm sure other retailers will conduct unofficial tests to ascertain there capability.

    Further information on the HDMI specification:

    The Supra HF100 HDMI cable is proven in terms of quality and officially certified from a performance perspective and has the following attributes:

    *The first HDMI cable to receive full HDMI approval in lengths up to 10 metres carrying HDTV at 1080i resolution.
    *Designed and manufactured in-house using military grade soldering by SUPRA in Sweden who are an official HDMI Adopter company
    * Double shielded OFC conductors in the HF100 cable
    * 100% shielded HDMI connector using 0.8 micron gold-plated contacts
    * Metal HDMI connector with stabilisation and strain relief to handle heavy cable
    * Ultra-wide bandwidth design
    * Low internal cross-interference
    * High-level screening against interference
    * Heat and age resistant outer insulation for extra longevity
    * 4 screened twisted pairs of OFC solid core conductors (with a PE foam insulation layer) improve the high frequency response for wide-bandwidth and efficient signal transfer.
    * The digital pairs are impedance stable over the entire frequency range up to 600MHz and are twisted with different pitch in order to minimize crosstalk
    * Heavy Double layer screening shield signals from external influences and prevents the digital signal being radiated into nearby components or other cables - 1st Layer: Aluminium foil (wrapped around each twisted pair); 2nd Layer: Aluminium foil (wrapped around the whole “bundle” of inner cores)
    * Small form factor cable - diameter only 9.5mm, enabling cable to be easily installed and hidden
    * Received a What Hi-FI? 5 star award

    As we are all aware many HDMI cables are available with differing quality, prices and specifications.

    For customers who wish to purchase a tried and tested quality HDMI cable the HF100 represents value for money.

    Yes, but all of the above doesn't mean that it will produce a superior image to another cable that has been shown to work of the same length. So why pay more?

    Hello jamieav

    I’d be tempted to install an HDMI>HDMI cable plus an HDMI>DVI adapter – Its likely (I’m guessing :)) that you will want to upgrade your Projector at some future date and its more likely to have an HDMI Input.

    If you want full future proofing install an HDMI 1.3 spec cable that’s rated to 1080p – see http://www.bettercables.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=3

    Best regards

    Joe

    Can I just point out that currently, it looks like there are no HDMI cables in the powerbuy section.

    Well at least at first sight. If you search for HDMI, then Joe's Betterbuy thread comes up. But if you just visit that forum, it doesn't appear. Perhaps because the last post in that thread was last year?
