Hi All,

I was |..| that close to purchasing a 37in 1080i LCD from Toshiba (wlt68), however a little voice in my head started talking (will go to a doctor for that later!) ,that if I am going to get a ps3, then why not get a real 1080p screen?

You see, size wise, 37in was my limit (via Order from the missus!), however i may be able to sneak in a 40in screen but really not sure if i would see THAT much difference comparing a 37in 1080i Vs 40in 1080p:rolleyes:

I plan to get LCD + Ps3 + ToshibaE1

Any advise / recommendations would be great

Cheers
ps 40in would deffo be my limit... in case someone advises that I get a 42in 1080p LCD unit etc.... (impossible!)

I would imagine you are going to recieve alot of differrent replies here.

It tends to be on an individual basis this, I have looked and cant see any difference. I now own the Tosh 37C3030DB and have a PS3 hooked up to it and it looks fantastic, no different to what it looks like on a 37" 1080p set.

I would say anything over 40" and you should consider getting 1080p.

The 68 series all accept 1080p. Don't know where you got the 1080i limit from.

I think he means it in terms of panel resolution 1366 x 768 vs 1920 x 1080 and not in terms of which input it accepts.

Apolgies, I did mean the difference between:
1366x768 V 1920x1080.

I have read some of the older posts and that is why i decided that if I am going to buy a 37in LCD, i wont see the benefit of 1080p

..... its only in a the last few days i was thinking, if i get a 40in LCD, would that make the difference

I have bought a 40" 720p recently. After comparing it side with a 1080p I couldn't tell the diference from distance. I presume it's horses for causes.

Go for whichever looks best for the sources you are using from the distance you are viewing from. Higher resolution does not necessarily imply better picture quality.
