1080p LCD Advice!!?? (For Gaming)

I've been looking about for a 1080p LCD that is best for gaming on my Xbox 360, lately. I've been looking pretty much exclusively at 37" models for space reasons - it's the best space/quality compromise I can come up with (all of the sub-37" screens i've seen have looked horrific in comparison). I've, so far, come up with the shortlist shown below, and was looking for some advice from those more knowledgeable than I am on the subject as to which is preferable.

The price on this one keeps fluctuating from £799 to £850ish

Is there anything to the "active picture processing" they flaunt lower down besides some photoshopped images?

Obviously, cheaper is preferable, but for four comparable screens, which - if any - has the edge? The three HDMI ports on the Samsung sound nice, but i'm assuming getting a splitter would serve the same purpose.

Any help would be great. Also, feel free to point me in the direction of a better TV along these prices if you feel that there are better ones, also LCD is not a necessity. But NO BIGGER THAN 37" Please

plus they share the same panels as sony but are a cheaper set!

I had the same requirements as yourself and after much research and agonising over which set to buy, i went for the sharp le37xd10e from comet and could'nt be happier. The reason i went for this set over the others you mention is i simply could'nt find any major criticism on here of the set, everyone i discussed it with were happy with it and did'nt hesitate in recommending it, i did look at the samsung and especially the toshiba but i believe there was a question mark over how well those sets handled "juddering" from ps3 bd playback, although the sharp does'nt feature true 1080 24p support it handles that signal very well thanks to the truD feature. The 360 and ps3 look stunning, the picture from the 360 actually impressed me more initially, with gears of war looking jaw droppingly good in parts. All in all i think it's a great set and like i say i could'nt be happier with it.

Curious to know but which Sony set does the Samsung LE37M87 share a panel with?

The LE37 doesn't have the super clear panel - you may want to consider getting the LE40.

but its older brother the 42PFL7662D had a bad review at HDTVtest review website so i am kind of worried but yea if any one else with more knowledge and can advice please do so..

i am also mainly using it for my PS3 and looking to buy a Monster Game Link PS3 HMDI cable for it, as for 1080p u need a cable that can handle it and transfer it

Did'nt think anyone had actually suffered from banding on the 37 inch sharp? the 42 and 46 yes, but the 37 never as far as i know suffered from this problem.

Hmm, thanks for the tips guys, but there is another problem that I forgot to mention. My TV will be placed at 90 degrees to a window, so obviously sunlight is a problem and I realise that a higher brightness will be needed. So which one is recommended? I have had 3 people say 3 different TV's so far, but obviously the Philips is a no go. But which ones truely stand out above the rest? Any more owners here???

EDIT: Also, any chance you can pick up on the specs for the TV's colour count? My current HDTV (Very old LG Model) has 30 billion, yet I have seen some that have over a trillion in count. So which one(s) have the highest??

DOUBLE EDIT: (Sorry didn't want to double post) But I just read that the sharp's HDMI ports do NOT accept a signal larger than 1280 x 768....Is this right!?

and my second choice is SOny TV and has to be a 1080P for my playstation 3 and i am looking to invest buying the sony tv stand RHT-G800 integrated surround sound system

I am willing to extend to purchase the 40" M87 panel, but is there much benefits from doing so? Like, a higher contrast ratio?

Does anyone know the Static and the Dynamic constrast ratios for the M87 panels at all???

37 inch M87 has a claimed dynamic contrast of 10,000 to 1
40 inches and up is claimed to be 15,000 to 1. The Superclear panel is rather reflective however. ... this may be a problem with it at a 90 degree angle to the window.

Ah, I did my revision. I read up on a few other reviews, and they say that the panel isn't affected by the light much. It's artifical light that is the problem, but my lights are out of sight from where the TV will be so this is no problem.
