1080 setting to big for TV screen

Hi,
I have an ATI X1900XT card connected to my 50 in Samsung 1080p DLP (Samsung HL-S5087W) using an DVI-HDMI capable. When I set my resolution at 1080 the image appears but goes past the tv screen. I have the latest catalyst drivers and see no option of where i can adjust the screen. Also, my tv doesn't let me resize the picture. Am i missing a step or how do i go about this?

As I don't have an HD set myself I'm not entirely sure whether your image is supposed to fit perfectly or whether you should expect a little overscan. Powerstrip is the utility of choice for tweaking resolutions and image positioning. Do a search for it here and on Google and you'll find lots of information about it.
