    Hi all,

Is it really worth buying a 720p projector just yet? Seems like you are only losing 200 horizontal pixels with a 1024x768 (provided it has a 16:9 mode).

In a years time 720p projectors will be cheaper and better. We will also have hi def DVDs and PS3s, so is it wise to wait, and buy a 1024x768 in the short term?

if you just want for DVD's, then get a 1024 x 576 projector......if its just for TV use then get a 1024x768 if you like, but bear in mind most stuff is broadcast in widescreen now on digital setups.....(freeview or sky or cable)

i opted for a 1280x720p projector simply because i play games in that res to get extra screen width, i also didnt really want to buy something cheap now, then buy something better later when prices drop, so i got a nice PJ now that i enjoy very much and dont have to think about upgrading for a while...lol..and because its infocus i will hopefully still be able to take part in their upgrade program sometime in the future :)

720p Projectors are reasonably priced now so i would say get one rather than buy a stop gap projector. I am eyeing up the BenQ 7700 which is priced at £1400 atm, i am gona hold out a few months and hopefully get it at just over a grand, heres hoping anyway :D
