Hi all. Does anyone know where to buy 100k resistors from? I'm thinking of building a Linkwitz-Riley Transform Cct along the lines of the one on ESP's site and it uses a couple of these in the circuit (as do many others). However, can't find any in the Maplin Catalogue. It also lists a 220pF capacitor which I can't find either!

As a general question, do I have to have 9 or 10 Watt rated resistors in this kind of circuit which is intended to be utilised before the Amplifier? I know they recommend this for crossovers but not sure about this type of circuit, as there are a couple of other resistor values I need that are only available in the 3W version.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers
    Paul

They are not cheap for small quantities so your local TV repair shop might be the best bet as they will have stack loads in there drawers.

Rapid Electronics are also good, although they don't have on line ordering. Well worth ordering a catalogue - the cost is refunded with first order.

You may find you need to put caps in parallel to get the desired values, as not all are available off the shelf.

Are you going to buy the PCB for this projet? I want to order a PCB too - fancy splitting the postage by ordering together?

if you mean this circuit then 0.6 watt resistors will be fine.maplins do stock 100k resistors (and many more values)to order add m to the value so a 100k resistors stock code is m100k ,the capacitor comes in sevral flavours take your pick from RG43W RG51F or WX60Q

depends were your getting the input signal from,if its before any power amps then 0.6w will be fine.

Subwoofer output of Marantz SR4200 Receiver, which I guess is low level?

Yes, it is - the sub amplifies it and makes it high level.

    220pF caps - maplin code WX60Q or RA37S

    HTH!

Yes, but looking at it again, I might just build the transform circuit, without all the extra gubbins (phase etc).
I was also looking at getting the PCB for project 5 (preamp power supply), so might still be interested in splitting the postage...
