I'm looking at 2 Panasonics...1 has 100HZ/micam and the other has 50hz/Prologic. Both the same price.
What would be the prefered option ??

    Depends on what you want.

If you prefer the 100hz option over 50hz, choose that. If you prefer DPL over stereo choose that.

No-one can really tell you what is best as you are asking whether you should go for picture or sound.

Are you likely to use the DPL, or is the cinema bug going to bite and you end up with a full 5.1/6.1 system? Personaly I would go with the best picture, and then get an amp and speakers when funds allow.

Be carefull, home cinema is very contagious and often leads to large overdrafts:D

    Hi..Thanks for the replys

I guess I'm still a bit worried about the 100hz picture. I've looked and looked in the shops at the 100 and the normal 50hz...still I just can't work out if I'm 100% about the picture of the 100hz...still looks a bit digitized...but I think maybe the way shops have them set up and tuned may be a reason for the quality.

The shops (assuming you mean Currys, comet etc) will have the sets on maximum contrast and brightness. 100hz sets never look good on max settings.

Try and get a fiddle and bring the settings down.

    Neither

100Hz makes a picture plasticy and DPL is a waste of time and money.

Buy a good basic TV, look at Flat Screens, also IDTVs (better than boxes for picture)

Then start on proper surround - ie Dolby Digital etc.

100hz sets from 4 years ago maybe made things look "plasticy" but modern 100hz sets are far superior.

Anyway, 100hz is a subject that always splits the camps. You either like it or you don't. Only the individual can make their own mind up.
