$1000 budget: An old or a brand new projector? Which one?

Hi,

I'm looking for the best "quality/$1000" ratio I could get at the current used price (ebay) or brand new price.

With a budget of around $1000 should I go for example for an old Sony HW50ES / HW95ES or for a more current model in that price range?

Any brand / model could be considered but I hate any motion blur / DLP rainbow effect.

Main use: Movies in a dedicated room.

Go for a used JVC, X500 perhaps. This is the best picture you can buy for ~1000$.

Thank you for your input . Based on it, I took a hard look at the JVC offering but the used inventory was quite limited and with Covid it was hard to compare in the used market... I finally went with a used Sony VPL-HW65ES (~$1400) / a new EluneVision Reference Studio 4K 84'' Fixed Frame 16:9 Projector Screen ($315).

I am quite happy with the result (for the price).
