100 hz question

    This might seem a bit of a stupid question for some of you experts, so I apologise in advance.

    Are 100 hz sets "switchable" back down to 50 hz? or are you stuck on 100 hz all the time?

    Some claim to be able to switch down to 50Hz and disable the various picture "improvement" circuitry, but since the scan coils on the tubes are different for 50Hz and 100Hz sets, it's more of a simulated 50Hz than the real thing.
