I see the 300D as supplied with the 'kit' lens is a teaser if you get my drift?
Having said that, the 18-55mm isn't a bad lens, but there are MUCH better Canon ones available.

When I got my Sony VA555ES Amp a while back, I would have been shot to bits if I posted that it sounded great with a pair of £30 Eltax speakers attached!! :nono:

Basically a L series lens will realise the 300D's body to its full potential.
Damm expensive this Photography lark.....as is AV.....and fast cars.....and women..

    Cheers.. :smashin:

All 'air' shots were taken with a Canon 75-300mm USM MkIII.
The 300D supplied Canon 18-55mm for most of the static/ground shots, but some were taken with a secondhand Canon fixed 50mm f1.8.
All lenses are fitted with UV filters, and correct lens hoods.

    regards

Got the 75-300 in the USA while on hols for approx £120.
Jessops have them listed at £150.
Wish I'd got the 100-400L over there now...guess will have to endure another trip next year.. :D

Just checked my files, guess I press the button about 400 times at a airshow like Old Warden, (3 to 4 hour display).
Probably delete 100 or so there and then after reviewing on LCD.
Dump another 100 or so previewing on Puter.
Play around with the best in Photoshop.
    Throw em at Anet!!!!
Learned that its no use uploading rubbish coz they won't get on.
Still, 109 from 5 airshows not too bad as they suggest that only 1 in 5 uploads is of acceptable quality....Great fun eh?

So to add to your earlier comment, I think the update is :-

Damm expensive this Photography lark.....as is AV.....and fast cars.....and women.. oh and damn time consuming ;)

I should know, I once setup a dark room in the small bedroom (film days  ) & can remember losing many a whole evening up there. I know digital is a hell of a lot easier these days, but there's something special about your picture starting to appear whilst rocking the tray of chemicals over the photo paper

Saying that, I don't miss the hassle of trying to load film into a devolping tank in the pitch black :zonked:

My mate went to a race track in wigan last week where you get to race sports cars. Was a guy there with a DSLR, taking pics and charging £12 for 10x8's. Mike had one, gary had three. That's £48 for maybe half an hrs work. They let the guy use the club house ect to print. The guy goes all over the show his website http://www.dephoto-le.co.uk/store/cgi-bin/imageFolio.cgi. When i was at pride this year. I saw a few people with dslr's and compacts taking pics and handing out cards.
