When asked to name your favourite films I always think that it would be better to be asked , straight films and comedy films, separately. Even then, trying to list a 'top ten' is always problematic as you just know you'll have forgotten something you ought to have included. No list is final or definative.

So let us call this, Ten Comedies Dear To You. ( off the top of your head )

The point of this not only to show what you like but also to suggest to people new ideas for their list, or trigger a reminder for something they once said to themselve they ought to watch.

We all have our different reasons for choosing our list; outright comedy, some kind of endearment that was personal, or just a general feel-good factor, or you maybe just were in such a good mood the first time you saw it.

You'll make a list and no doubt there will be others you think of a few minutes later. Doesn't matter. Just make ten good ones. Maybe a few people will get a laugh out of some of them as a result of seeing them here.

I'm not really into comedies but over the years I'll try and think of one's that are dear to me

    Blazing saddles. Speaks for itself.

Pink panther returns I think out of the whole series this was the one I loved.

A shot in the dark I remember as a kid laughing out loud to my first experience of clousau.

Laural and Hardy sons of the desert but really could be any.

The Hangover. I didnt expect much from this thought it would be a bit rubbish but I really liked it.

Caddy shack Chevy Chase doing what he does. I nearly chose Fletch and it could've been any of the vacation films but this was the first one for me.

It's a mad mad mad mad world. Absolutely loved this as a kid I thought it was hilarious.

The lavender Hill Mob. I had to have an Ealing comedy on the list. Could've been a few.

Those magnificent men in their flying machines Great funny adventure Add The great Race to this too.

School for Scoundrels Terry Thomas at his best although he's in 3 on my list and fantastic in all.

There are so many, but the first that spring to mind are the ones below that if on telly, I will never change the channel even if seen for the umpteenth time.

    Deadpool
    Anchorman
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
    The Hangover
    Waterboy
    Dumb and Dumber
    Spaceballs
    The Naked Gun
