just looking into upgrading my samsung hd box (when out of warranty and i own it of course) and have come across the Western Digital Caviar Green & the Western Digital Caviar Black both are 1TB
the "black" seems to have twice the buffer and is faster response times but i presume may get hotter?

i have read loads all over the net about the hd box and hdds but i find the info very conflicting
any pointers are very much appreciated:lease:

I think Black are supposed to be "peformance tuned" HDDs in WD's classification scheme. You don't need this for a PVR - where low heat and quietness are better!

the 2 green listed above are sata & sata II
sata is 16mb cache and the sata II is 32mb cache will either fit?
cheers
