1.4 HDMI Cable for Virgin Media 3D Stuff?

Hiya Guys,

GOt the 1.4 HDMI Cable to go between the 3D player and the 3D TV, but will I need a 1.4 Cable to go between my Virgin Media Box and the 3D TV to watch the 3D Programmes available now on Virgin??

I wonder if the mods can put in a script that stops '1.4' and 'HDMI Cable' appearing in the same sentence :)

There are no '1.4' cables - 1.4 is a hardware revision spec and has nothing to do with cables.

HDMI cables are either High Speed (tested at 1080p) or Standard (tested at 1080i/720p).

HDMI.org advise you to install a High Speed cable for 3-D - though it's worth simply trying out the cable you have with your various 3-D devices before you go spending any more cash - unless you're running a long cable you should be fine with what you have (especially with the broadcast 3-D).

The industry needs to start following the HDMI.org guidelines on cable marking otherwise most folk will still be conned/confused into buying things with bigger numbers on – its watts per channel all over again :)
