Nope, I've vented the bottoms of the two main cupboards in the middle and the speaker grill seems to allow enough air into the sub compartment.

I leave the door open when we're using the PS3 though just because of the heat they generate.

Been using this setup for a year or so now with no over-heating problems :)

Well I eventually replaced my trusty old PDP-506XDE back in January with the KRP-600A.

To be honest, I was getting completely fed up with my old Ikea Besta furniture. Although it looked okay, as usual with most of their stuff it was ready for the skip after about 18mths. As it happens, the new amp I ordered was too deep to fit the old furniture so after a very long and fruitless search for something suitable I had this made. The unit is in solid English oak. It's wall mounted like the old Ikea units but is 650mm deep to give loads of room behind each device and 450mm high to give some decent space above. It's vented underneath along the full length with cable access between each section.

I don't seem to have any overheating issues at the moment but there's plenty of room at the rear to install a cooling system if I need to. The amp (LX81) is in the first section, SkyHD and receiver in the second, PS3 and bdp in the third and the SVS sub sits in the fourth. I use a 'lazy susan' under the amp for easy access to the back, the whole thing spins 360 inside the compartment with about 10mm to clear either side ... hadn't planned for that!

I've got the ethernet devices connected via a 3 port 85Mbps Homeplug linking to 3 x 1TB external hard drives in the office, which is where most of my media is stored.

Really happy with the chap who made it, excellent service for half what I was quoted initially. I've had a couple of things made in the past but his craftmanship is def the best I've seen. He even delivered and fitted in person!

    Cheers Mr Gee

I've got some new cables on order, can't get rid of the loose ones underneath until they arrive. Hoping it will be today so I can get it all finished this weekend.

My vacuum cleaner keeps getting caught on my danglers :D

I find tucking them in your socks helps.

I see you have a pull-down PJ screen, any chance of some photos with it on? and of the other end of your room?

Very elegant units 0nimushi, I like the softer, more natural look of these compared with the besta.

I was planning on getting some units made myself but haven't been able to find anyone decent, could you PM the details of the chap who made them for you? It would be much appreciated as I've been looking for the past months with no joy

Great set up mate, we have nearly identical equipment as I have just sold my 500A and am about to get delivery of the 600A, same speakers and Amp as well!

The XT4's would look far nicer on their spikes, with some spike pads under them to protect your flooring.

Which projector are you using and any plans to get an LX91 bluray?

Massive improvement, I like that a lot. Think the floating looks a lot better with that new cabinet, and the 600A and XT4s are gorgeous things.

Agree with yellowsphere, looks better now, looked a bit funny with everything on the wall but the floorstanders add a better balance to it, cleaner look i guess :smashin:

Yep, they're a huge improvement on the Ikea units. Had some friends round thursday and they all agreed. To be honest the pics don't do it justice.

    PM sent with his details.

Yep, the 600A is an awesome bit of kit. I bought a LX5090 for the bedroom and straight away wished I'd splashed out on the 500A instead. Not sure about the spikes but I'll take a look at them, any improvement is always good.

The PJ is a ThemeScene HD73 which is actually my 1st ever PJ. I've had it over a year prob now, it's not bad for a 720p but I think at some point I'll look at a decent one. Don't use it a huge amount with the 60" on the wall but it's nice every now and then to power it up :) No plans for a LX91 yet. I don't really use the LX70A all that much, mostly use DNLA for movies and music etc.

Cheers immiz, they sure did. The stand is being used on the LX5090 at the mo whilst the bedroom is being sorted. Once it's all done, I'll post some pics.
