Someone sugested that new fans of him will watch the new and than take a step back to the one before whereas if the start from the beginning they may seem out of date and tame.

They also showed the uncut version of Never Say Never Again, the horse falling in to the water on its back after Bond and Basinger jump over the castle wall on it.

I think this film is an insult to the Bond franchise, considering its not even official, and connery went out with the rather shocking Diamonds Are Forever.

    Damo :)

I find it strange that he did packed Bond in than came back with the lame re-make of Never Say Never Again.

Last year or the year before MGM took legal action against Sony who were trying to start up a competing 007 franchise as they owned the rights to Thunderball(remade as NSNA).The resulting court case concluded with not only MGM winning, but they were also awarded the rights to Never Say Never and Casino Royale which were taken off Warner and Columbia.
Presumably why the next OFFICIAL movie is to be Casino Royale, receiving proper treatment for the first time

Can you imagine if they HADN'T won and there was a THIRD film of Thunderball, one of the worst of the Bond movies IMO!

You'll be interested to hear that Sony actually had the option to make 10 Bond films at one point - based on/using characters from Thunderball!!!!

If you thought one re-make (Never Say Never Again), was one too many, can you imagine what it would have been like if this had happened???

This all comes about due to the fact that Kevin McClory co-wrote Thunderball with Ian Fleming, and therefore he had a percentage rights to the story. McClory was Exec-Producer on NSNA.

    Whata mistaka to makea...

The biggest question is why even say it's a James Bond season when ITV seem to constantly show Bond movies all year round, year after year

While censor cuts affect Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies(which would probably be waived if MGM bothered to recertificate them),Licence To Kill was cut by almost a minute by the BBFC on its VHS release, and while I bought the R1 version(still about 10 seconds short) ,apparently the worldwide dvd release of LTK is the same version everywhere, but I don't have R2 to confirm.
Sony were obviously unhappy at losing their battle so went out and bought MGM anyway

Licence to kill, according to the melonfarmers web site is now uncut. Theprevious cuts were waved back in in 2000 for the dvd release. However on checking the BBFC web site it only says some previous cuts wavied.
Dvd compare dont even list it
