Hi i'm finally deciding to upgrade my crt but funds r tight does anyone know of a good 32" or above lcd tv for £500 or less.

You could have a look at the Samsung 32R7, you can get one for about 510 quid or so now. Have a look at www.lcd-tv-deals.co.uk, meant to be a good set, try searching for more reviews/info. Otherwise Dixons are listing it at 535 on lcd-tv-deals, its slightly more than your budget but meant to be a good set.
