In the next couple of months, I intend to buy a half decent separates system, and will have approximately (probably less than, if the girlfriend has her way!) £500 to spend on something nice to listen to. Already have some QED Qudos Silver Anniversary speaker cable that I'm quite happy with, and will probably buy one of Mark Grants interconnects from the Power Buys section, should take care of the cabling. I listen to all sorts of music, from Stina Nordenstam/Beth Orton right through to Metallica/System Of A Down, with some trance/techno thrown in for good measure, so would like it to sound good with all of the above. Any comments gladly appreciated, cheers in advance. PS, speakers would need to be bookshelf/stand mounted, as it's a fairly small room. I do have an old pair of B&W DM2's which I love the sound of, but they're just a bit OTT for my room unfortunately, and most of the sound would also be muffled by the settee too, hence the probable need for 60 to 70cm stands too. EDIT: Cambridge Audio Azur 640C on its way soon, now need suitable amp and speakers please.
