I have an M&K K12(SF) sub with my M&K Xenons in a small dedicated garage conversion.

For about £500.00 (could go a tad higher!), could anyone suggest a sub that would be a significant upgrade - not necessarily M&K.

Help and suggestions would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Hi Megson,

I googled your sub but struggled to find any info. Can you post the specs (size, amp power, frequency response)?

If you do you might get a better response.

    Its the M&K KX12. A sealed box enclosure with a single 12" super fast driver. Power rating is 150 watts RMS with a frequency response 20Hz - 200Hz. Dimensions (HxWxD) = 15" x 15" x 17". Weight is 20.4 Kg. I paid £600.00 for it about 18 months ago.

M&K subs are generally highly regarded and I know M&K profess that the power wattage quoted is misleading and the subs punch well above their weight.

I understand that a better sub will improve the performance of my xenon speakers.

You could pick up a second hand SVS PC+ or old Ultra if you are lucky for that price.

You could possibly look at second hand as Stevefish69 suggests. SVS make great subs and the one's he suggests should outperform the M&K KX12 even if it has a bigger driver (15").

Dunno if this matches the requirement, but as a Monolith owner I can recommend it without hesitation. Plenty of other threads on here about it. £430 odd delivered AFAICR.

How about a B&W ASW675? I love mine and you should be able to pick one up second hand for around £450 :D
