I have just ordered this today being installed on Sunday.Originally found a post on Digitalspy http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=222027 were Dinglebert said it was £49 without Multiroom but the Lady I spoke to (08705 800 800 think it's the Sky+ upgrade option) said the offer was only with Multiroom and didn't know why people thought it was without.Anyway thought it was still a good offer with 12 months Warranty and free fitting.I took Dinglebert's advice and told her that I knew of the offer rather than doing the cancellation bluff.

You can get this without multiroom as I did today, just go through to cancellations and they will offer it to you without making you have multiroom!!!!

 Oh yes another satisfied one. £49 and no multiroom and instillation free this saturday. In the end was passed over to cancellations and went down the route of I'd cancel if they couldn't do me a good offer and only having one Tv in the house so multiroom is no good.
    well happy Scoobydude

If you are still within your 12 month contract you haven't got a chance! They are only doing this as they can tie you in to another 12 month contract when you change to sky+ so no benefit to them if you are already in a contract. Sorry!

Just tried this and there was no way I could escape the multi-room bolt-on for £49. The guy said the only offer that was open to me was the full £259 offer, to which I told them to whistle for.:thumbsdow

Hi Mate, You just tell cancellations you only have one TV and therefore have no need for multi room, trust me you can get this offer you just have to call back if you get nowhere with the 1st cancellations person you speak to!!! Not only that on my install I got a nice shiny V2 box !!!

I called them just before I read your reply and told them that I want a better deal on Sky+. I explained I couldn't be bothered canceling just to get a good deal and slated their attitude to existing customers.

I was then told by some indian bird that I will receive a phone call or letter from the relevant department offering me a better deal.

    We'll see.

Yep, you will only be able to get this deal if you go through to cancellations no other department is authorised to give the deal out. If they really call your bluff then just hang up as they cannot cancel without your permission and then you have 21 days tochange your mind anyway!

I got it for £49 incl installation without multiroom on Friday 3rd June.

No problem at all. Went straight to cancellations and was offered it there and then.

Hi, Does anyone know if this was a limited offer or if it is ongoing as they receive more boxes back from failed installs etc?

I got it yesterday - though the guy on cust services didnt want to put me through to cancellations as I had only just resubscribed with him on the phone.

Got the £49 deal without multi room and they are coming on Wed to fit it - thankfully they didnt have it noted that I am on a communial disk (yes it does have 2 feeds already) otherwise I am sure they will say that I am not eligable.

And another satisfied customer. Rang on the 0870 5488485 number, told them I wanted to cancel because as an existing customer they wanted too much to give me Sky+, nice Welsh chap offered me multiroom for £99, I told him I'd only got one set and then he offered me the standard Sky+ for £49, handed over my credit card number and they're coming out wednesday.

First the good news: We've run out of refurbed V1 boxes, you'll have to have a new V2.

And then the bad news: It's an Amstrad. Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

    Update.

Good news through a change of tact. :)

Dispensed with the "i want to cancel" option and just said i know about the £49 referbed offer. Like others i had to say i did not want multiroom and at first they wouldn't agree but eventually relented.

Only problem is i have to wait till 6th July for first install date. Hopefully worth all the hassle and wait.

Is there any real difference between the V1 & V2 boxes, Pace & Amstrad??

V1 boxes are more ploblematic with hard drive upgrades, as are the Amstrads.

The V1s can be modded for SDI and widescreen-switching via SVHS though.

Not sure if V1s come with optical out and SVHS, the Pace v2 definetly do.

Yes, they do. They're the same spec as the V2 box, just slightly bigger.

And by the way, it's called s-video - SVHS is a VCR standard :lesson: :)

15 minute call on the Cancellation line, no threat to cancel I just said I knew of the offer and had no requirement for MultiRoom (1 TV in house, as if !). Lovely lady then confirmed the offer existed and took my card details - installation on Tuesday !
