I'm looking for a receiver/speaker set-up to go with my new TV. My budget is £400. The components I need to connect are a DVD with internal 5.1/DTS, a CD player. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You'd struggle to get a separates system for £400, you may have to consider an all-in-one system. Could you perhaps stretch your budget a little?

You could buy a Marantz SR4300 for £200 from Richer Sounds:

And for maybe an extra £300 you could sqeeze in a decent surround speaker system with cables. Someone else from the speakers section could prehaps recommend some speakers for you.
