    Hi there,

Does anyone know if there is an obvious choice in this category? My sister wants a good all-rounder, decent screen, (touch if poss), it needs enough grunt for powerpoint, general everyday things and good sound and screen definition for films. The below seems a decent bet, any other ones I should look at?

HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook 15 review | Laptops and netbooks Reviews | TechRadar

    Thanks for any advice!

Looking at a more comprehensive review I'm not sure it particularly fits your criteria:
Review HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15z-b000 Notebook - NotebookCheck.net Reviews

Personally I'd avoid a touchscreen given your budget and other criteria. It'll be difficult enough to get a good quality screen in the budget market (which is dominated by buzzwords rather than practicality) and a touchscreen layer makes the screen dimmer.

Have you looked at the Sony Vaio Fit 15E? The screen brightness is only average so it can get washed out in brighter surroundings, but it's got good contrast and decent speakers.
