About to buy a set of Monitor Audio B4 Bronze speakers. I'm considering dropping the MA ASW100 sub to get something better, but my budget only goes upto £300.

    Considering the following:-

    REL Quake
    MJ Acoustics Reference 100
    Velodyne CHT-10

    Two questions:-

Is it worth the extra £100 to drop the ASW100 for one of these 3?

Which of the 3 would you recommend?

I would recommend you go for the BK XLS200, fantastic sub for the money.

There are other players too, I believe Wharfdale have a new budget sub out there with a good reputation, and don't discount the Mordaunt Short MS309, also a great sub.

I used to have a KEF PSW2500, and I was well happy with it for a sub £300 sub (rrp is £349, but it can be found for less than £300 I believe). Have a read of the budget sub test at the top of the forum.

You could even check out the 2nd hand market, the classifieds on the forum usually spring some amazing bargains!! And you will save a packet on the rrp's of most models.

There is also the new baby SVS to consider, if you do not mind waiting a bit and importing from the States?

Lots of options in the budget sector, which can only be a good thing :)
