Hi Guys

Can anyone steer me in the right direction ...

I've got a 42" Samsung Q7 plasma & the sound is crappy, so I'm looking to buy a 5.1 surround sound system. I've never viewed an HD source through the screen, so I was thinking about buying an all in one upscaling system...

I have about £300 - £400 to spend ...

What are the best models available and should I consider seperates (if so ... what is the best model in my budget)

Thanks

Oli

You wont get anything near HD with these so called upscaling Dvd systems, upscaled pics on your sammy will look inferior compered to normal SD, your panel will do a much better job of scaling.

Buy a separates package (amp + speakers) and a HD player, well with-in your budget

Ive got the 50" version of the Panasonic and HD sources are fantastic

Well there u go

1) Blu Ray Home Theaters (upscales Dvds to 1080p Full Hd) and of course plays BD movies
5.1 upgradable to 7.1ch (HDMI in & out)

* Sony HTSF2000 Slim Home Cinema System

* Samsung HT-AS720ST (just released in US)

All this upscaling is HYPE, you can not add information to SD material whats NOT there in the first place

Thanks Lorrich

I'd be interested to know how you'd spend the £400
(amp, speakers and HD player)

I was thinking about this the SONY HT-DDW890 - £205
Whats your take on it ? ...
