    G'Day Guys'n'Gals

It has been a while since I have been on these forums and as such I have lost touch with what's hot and what's not in the world of DVD!

The player will be used in the bedroom with a 55:45 split between Music and Video.
    TV Sony 28FX68
    Receiver Marantz SR5300
    Speakers KEF Eggs

    My requirements:

    Must do:
    S-Video Out & Scart
Digital Co-Ax out Or Optical out
    Multi-region
    Audio CD / MP3 / DVD R/RW +/-

    Would like:
    JPEG / SACD / MPEG / DVD-A?

    Misc:
Prog scan not really req. (I don't think TV can handle it)
Would be good if it looked like either the TV or receiver although it does not have to be either a Sony or Marantz (receiver is however black)

I am currently considering the Pioneer DV-565A but do not know what the audio quality is like with CDs or MP3s.

    Pioneer/Sony/Marantz/Toshiba all things considered.......

    What do you think?

    Thank You In Advance

A vote for the 565A from me, it does all that you need and want and to my ears the CD quality is great. I think you can get it in black if you look hard.

From all the reviews I have seen the CD playback is only average on the 565 - great with SACD/DVD Audio.

If you want good CD then probably best to concentrate on Denon, Marantz or Harman Kardon
