not when you think people paid £40 for a Japanese DTS copy of Blade. Couldn't you hire Ring first and see what the tartan copy's like?

i use Choices which is just down the road from me and stocks a fairly decent range of recent foreign language films. I've rented battle royale, audition, ring (0,1 and 2) from there. I've never used Blockbuster so I couldn't tell you about them.

V shop had the ring triology in their two for twenty quid promotion recently. You can check out the review for them on the total dvd web site or from the links at the top of the forum.:)

As I understand it, the Jap DVD of Ring doesn't have English subtitles. Unless you can speak fluent Jap it might be an expensive mistake buying it.
I've seen Ring going as low as £7 in various high street in-store sales at the moment.
Massively overrated film if you ask me.

I picked Ring and Ring 2 up from my local HMV for £10.99 each about 4 weeks ago now and the transfers didn't strike me as being particularly poor.

As for the films, i quite enjoyed Ring but thought Ring 2 was rather dull.I certainly wish i had rented both before parting with £22!

Silverback you PM inbox is full mate.:(

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I went into my local virgin on Friday and they only had Ring 0.:( The deal is buy one get one free and they wanted £20 for it. I asked if they would be getting the Ring or Ring 2 in and they said they didn't know. Deliveries of new stock come in on Mondays so to check back then. CD-WOW have the Ring and Ring 2 for £10.99 each if your interested.:) Or I'll check back with VShop tomorrow.

I thought it was one of those films that it did not matter too much if you saw it first (like phantom menace) but if you watch it after ring 1 you say "oh that s why that happened"

No rush for it back so wait until the other 2 come if you like.

I haven't seen any of them yet but they are on my must see list.:)

You could always rent the Ring from Movietrack who are an online rental company. I have used them a number of times. Choose from thousands of DVDs and growing fast. Same day despatch to reach you in 1-2 working days. Keep your movies for up to 7 days.
Special mailers double as a pre-paid return envelope. Return your films from any UK postbox. Flat rate 50p P&P per order - up to 4 DVDs at a time. Just £3.25 per title. Thats £3.75 in total.
There is a link to the title here
