So first off, I'm new to all this media player kind of stuff when it comes to digitizing DVDs/Blurays. All I have is an idea in my head of what I want and little to no knowledge of what's out there, the proper terminology, or even if what I'm looking for exists. I appreciate you bearing with...
I'm looking for something like a mede8er/popcorn hour that will play these files as I've noticed more and more content is now available to download from well known sites.
Failing that any idea if xbox one S will stream these files?
At the moment I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and whilst its generally ok and I like the interface, I just find the quality of playback to be a bit too stuttery.
So I'm wondering which ones out there provide the smoothest video playback out there.
By smooth I'm not talking about the occasional...

I would like recommendations to replace my WDTV Live Streaming Media Player.
The main use will be playing MKV 1080p Blu-ray Disc rips, stored on external HDDs.
There are 5 HDDs, 8tb in size each, connected to a USB hub.
Streaming is secondary.
Received emails on the news of A-500 PRO - Free Shipping and Mystery Gift Given in conjunction with the Oktoberfest
A-500 PRO – Cloud Media
Looks interesting but I have my A-500.
Any user of A-500 PRO? Aside from the analog capabilities, any difference with A-500?
I'm looking for a media player to hook up to my TV.
To be honest, I don't know much about media players, I'm just looking for something that will play files off an external hard drive and hopefully also do playlists.
The files I'm using at the moment are all in .mp4.
I have 3 pc's windows 10 one recognizes Cd's in windows media player, and the other 2 come up with this error message.
How do I resolve this anyone?

This is a long shot, but I thought it might be worth a try.
I have just bought a Panasonic DMR-HWT250EB. I have connected an external hard drive via a USB port at the back and I have also managed to connect my laptop computer and my phone to the machine via DLNA.
Is it possible to connect my 3T WD Elements Play media player via USB to my Apple Time Machine and then access all my media wirelessly on my MacBook??? If so could you talk me through the process? Many thanks.
Hi folks, I got an xbox one with the view to watching movies etc on it. I have loads of mkv files and even mp4 now, the xbox one can play none of them no matter if I use the media player app or plex. Is there anything Im doing wrong, my br player can play all these files, my cheap android player...

I'm surprised that there seems to be no mention of this device in this HTPC sub-forum. For under £90 it seems ideal to me for 1080p use (not 4k).
There's a review in the video streamer section Tronsmart Ara X5 Plus Mini-PC Review but it is really a complete Windows 10 PC, not just a video...
I'll keep this as short as possible, as i can only imagine regulars on this site must read the same spiel half a dozen times a day.
i have a good old WD Elements Play media player, circa 2010, which contains a built in two terrabyte hard drive. Media playback is made off the internal drive.
