White Chicks: Unrated & Uncut DVD Review
SRP: £28.95

Picture

”Mastered in High Definition” brands the information box of the rear of this case, and all that statement would suggest is true in this picture. Picture quality is fantastic with bags of detail, good sharp edges without any enhancement, bold accurate colours and great blacks. Even the trailers at the beginning of the disc give your system a great warm-up.

Sound

There's not that much on-screen action that would necessitate the use of the rear channels so much. But where used, it is used very well. Overall sound quality is high, with a rich, detailed dialogue channel.

Extras

The disc boasts a long list of extras, although beneath the skin they are pretty much along the same lines of the movie. The Wayans commentary where I was expecting some off the cuff wit and maybe an explanation as to why the film panned out as it did, was instead a monotonous speech full of “we did this bit here because of that thing there” and “this bit is interesting because of this not really very interesting reason”. The how'd they do that featurette is worth watching if you're a black man on a mission to look like a white woman...
White Chicks: Unrated & Uncut
Some laugh-out-loud comedy scenes, but too many dull moments in-between.
