Picture
The image is presented in Anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen and for a television series it looks amazingly sharp. Colours are strong and well saturated with solid blacks and plenty of detail on show. In fact I have to say this is by far the best looking TV drama transfer to disc I have seen yet. This is an extremely pleasing and detailed image, well done Carlton.
Sound
Presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 the soundtrack is also very impressive. Using Dolby Prologic II decoding on our Processor the track becomes very enveloping and the dynamics are spot on. Guns obviously take centre stage with such a drama, and they sound realistic with clear steering effects during fight scenes. Not quite as good as a dedicated 5.1 mix, but satisfying all the same.
Extras
The extras include a 17 minute behind the scenes documentary with cast and crew interviews, and a quick look at the stunt work. Also included are two trailers, one of them for series two, so if you don't want a spoiler before watching the second series, don't watch this!Having missed this on the TV, I was surprised by the picture and sound quality on this disc, and the series is entertaining fun
