Picture
This 1.85:1 anamorphically enhanced transfer is actually not too bad at all. I would not merit it with a reference standard badge, but in its favour it has good levels of detail that extend to darker moments. Black level is nice and deep and colour is presented in a very natural palette with a real vivacious, live tonality.
The image, contrary to other reviews that I have read, is not completely clean with print damage evident particularly at the very end of the feature, there is occasional noise but edge enhancements were slight at best, overall then not a bad showing at all.

Sound
Offered as a Dolby Digital 5.1 (448kbs) stream with no extended surround enhancements, this soundtrack is difficult to fault. There is pleasing width and depth to the soundstage, with a mix of discrete and ambient effects that extends to all speakers, I particularly enjoyed the moments where samba style music was used as a backdrop.
Obviously the LFE channel is not going to suffer from too much duress from this "comedy" but does have the odd opportunity to join the party, dialogue is tight and clean and I think, given the source material, which just about sums it up.

Extras
The single disc release offers us an audio commentary by Director Andrew Fleming, which was quite interesting and no hardship at all to listen too. Then we have a Gag reel, which did nothing for me whatsoever.
Deleted and alternative scenes show that someone at the editing suite had the right idea. Multiple Takes shows us Albert Brooks ad lib his way through scenes and finally trailers, for both this and the original film rounds up the additional features.
DVD-ROM features are not present.
Honestly? I wouldn't buy this disc, nor if asked would I recommend others too. The film is not great, the extras are not great, what can I say? No doubt Blockbusters will do a better job of promoting this than I have.
