Snatch: Superbit Edition DVD Review
SRP: £12.99

Picture

Presented here in a superbit version the increased bit rate does make some subtle differences to the image quality. Comparing it with the earlier standard release there is more depth to the image. Colours appear that little bit more natural and well produced with bags of detail on show in some scenes. There is still a general softness to wider angled shots present on both discs, but the remainder is sharp and crisp looking. The 1.85:1 anamorphic image is very good indeed and in this instance it looks a little better here than the standard release.

Sound

Presented in Both Dolby Digital and DTS the soundtrack is very lively indeed. The surrounds are active throughout with the score and effects providing an enveloping feel to the movie. Dialogue is always rich and intelligible with good use also made with the LFE channel. Comparing the two soundtracks proved almost impossible to separate, but the DTS flavour just piped the post with a cleaner high end and smoother LFE channel.

Extras

This superbit edition does not contain any extras, instead the extra space left is used for high bit rate picture and sound.
Snatch: Superbit Edition
The film is edgy and funny with great performances from the cast; this superbit edition provides a slight improvement in the Audio & Visuals compared to the standard disc but loses the extras.
