MSRP: £12.99

Picture

A welcome relief from the messy Sky transmissions we're used to seeing the Simpsons on. Colours are stronger and we are treated to minimal block noise or compression issues on the DVD. We are still limited by the original animations however, and earlier episodes are “duller” than others exhibiting edge noise and a little over the top haloing.

Sound

Standard 2 channel stereo Dolby Digital mix. The original episodes are all recorded in Dolby Surround although we don't see much use of it, perhaps the odd panning effect here and there. A decent clean up job and wide language options are all that has been added to the original

Extras

Not much to report. A couple of trailers that aren't really worth the watch are the only marked extras. There is a Professor Frink Featurette which while very funny (Prof Frink is hilarious whatever he does!) does feel lazily thrown together.

The four episodes shown are very, very funny with plenty of memorable quotes and one-liners to keep you laughing all the way through. A great present for the Simpsons fan or something to stick on when bored.
