Secret of the Shaolin Poles DVD Review
SRP: £7.99

Picture

Although a cropped 4:3 image it's in better shape than 12 Kicks but that really is not saying much. Not many specks or scratches, but the image is soft throughout and seems very out of focus on occasion. Not good at all, but there is no better available on any other Region and it is a film worth seeing.

Sound

Dubbed Dolby Digital English 2.0 and although there are some comedic moments it's not too bad and more serious in tone compared to other dubs I've heard. Sure Cantonese would be better, but alas it's not to be. Some hiss on a few scenes but nothing too major.
Secret of the Shaolin Poles

Extras

Not much except for some web links, a UK promo trailer and some DVD covers of future exciting releases.
Secret of the Shaolin Poles
Really good fun movie, with a good story and strong performances. The AV quality lets it down badly, but unless someone like Hong Kong Legends or Celestial decide to clean this up, we will have to be content for now.
