Hop to

Alec Baldwin must still be kicking himself. After a successful debut in The Hunt for Red October, Baldwin reportedly walked away from the potential Jack Ryan franchise to pursue a career on Broadway. D'oh. Step in an already huge action hero in the shape of Harrison Ford, and the next leg of the Jack Ryan movie machine kicks off.
In Patriot Games, Ford plays a more mature version of Jack Ryan who has retired from the CIA and travels to London for a family vacation. As he meets his family outside Buckingham Palace, he finds himself in the middle of a terrorist attack on Lord Holmes a member of the Royal Family. The former marine jumps into action helping to thwart the IRA splinter cells assassination attempt, and at the same time killing one of the terrorists. But Ryan's courageous act marks him as a target for the terrorists, and in particular the groups' leader who saw Ryan kill his brother.
