One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: Two-Disc Special Edition DVD Review
SRP: £19.99

Picture

Light olives and muted colours add to the atmosphere. As you would reasonably expect, the newly restored digital transfer looks great, with no scratches or grain. It's presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo

Sound

The remastered soundtrack is now Dolby Digital 5.1, and it's a great mix - sound effects appear from all around the room. That said, the joyless music played to calm patients during the medication scenes would surely drive any sane person mad, so be careful.

Extras

Feature-length commentary by Milos Forman, a fascinating Making of..., additional scenes and a trailer. It's a wonderful treatment for such a deservedly well respected film.Seminal movie about madness and institutionalisation. Newly restored transfer looks great and the extras are spot-on.
