Last Action Hero: Superbit Edition DVD Review
SRP: £28.18

Picture

The picture is presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic and looks stunning. As a superbit title you expect it to look good, and the amount of detail and clarity in the image is first class. The print is almost completely free from dirt and grain, with only the slightest amount visible in darker scenes, and only one instance of edge enhancement was noticed. Otherwise this image is first class and very nearly three dimensional in its presentation.

Sound

The movie is an over the top action fest from the first scene to the last and as such the soundtrack presented in both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 is outrageous! The sheer dynamics on offer are brilliant with busy split surrounds and thunderous LFE fun. Certain scenes such as the explosive car chase in the first reel just make you grin from ear to ear as your chest is pounded by Bass and your senses are on overtime with bullets whizzing past your ears. The Dolby track is good, the DTS track is even better with a crisper more dynamic feel and tighter, deeper feeling bass extension. I don't have to tell you that this disc really is Demo quality material indeed, highly recommended.

Extras

None here, this is a Superbit disc.
Last Action Hero: Superbit Edition
A Fun movie with brilliant picture quality and outstanding Dolby and DTS sound, with the latter stealing the show, highly recommended.
