MSRP: £7.99
Picture
Presented in an non anamorphic 1.85:1 ratio, the print is nasty, although it certainly marks a step up from some of 55 Chamber's earlier catalogue releases which were truly horrific. The print is in rough shape, with a lot of dirt and damage throughout. Colours tend to vary wildly from scene to scene although mostly they are over saturated. Picture detail is soft and grainy on the whole, although again detail is better than on other titles in the series. Not very good at all.
Sound
Presented in a Dolby Digital 2.0 track, the only audio is the woeful English dub, which provides more belly laughs than the atrocious scripted comedy in the film. Sound wise this is of pretty ropey quality, with distortion present in action scenes, and an overall muffled and soft sound throughout.
Extras
The release is scant on extras with only a trailer, a brief image gallery, and some ads for other 55th Chamber releases.
It's a truly awful movie in every respect to the point it verges on the disturbing, and yet a small part of me is strangely drawn to it, as if it becomes almost compulsive in its terribleness. I can't for a minute recommend it as anything other than cheap martial arts trash, but if you find you have a soft spot for terrible dated nonsense like this, then it may well find a special place in your heart reserved for the worst excess of bad filmmaking. It will either be a revalation or the worst hour and a half of your life.
