Picture
The 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer is pretty good, as it should be for such a recent movie with strong colours and a sharp transfer. Blacks and skin tones are consistent throughout. No edge enhancement, artefacting or scratches. Great stuff all round.
Sound
Audio too is fine for this movie with just a Dolby Digital 5.1 track (with English subs). The surrounds get the odd workout but this is generally a dialogue heavy movie and most of the action comes from the centre speaker. Dialogue and the sporadic action scenes are well separated and there are no problems understanding the actors.
Extras
The extras are pretty comprehensive for such a throwaway comedy and we begin with the theatrical trailer. This is followed by the “Jamie Smiles” music video, and then the 9-part 1-hour making of and behind the scenes featurette. This is pretty interesting and worth a watch if you're a big fan of the movie. Next are some of Anna Faris's recording sessions which are a hoot, followed by 6 deleted scenes, a funny blooper reel and finally some more funny moments in a bit called “Stuff you might like”. The Featurette aside most of this is pretty throwaway stuff, but worth a watch.
All in all a pretty funny comedy, that is worth a watch due to Reynolds and Faris plus the DVD is pretty packed if you're a major fan.
