Picture
This is actually a hard one to judge, purely because the film is intentionally grainy. However, there's no sign of halos or artefacts, so at least it's doing something right at this point. Colours are a mixed bunch with some bright vivid ones at the beginning of the movie, while the later ones are muted and grim to match the tone of the movie. Everything about the image is fine, but the deliberate graininess may make people think it's a poor transfer when it's clearly not. However, it isn't something I'd spin up for reference purposes.
Sound
With a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, it's very much the same as the original DVD release. Due to hardware constraints, I can't judge the PCM 5.1 soundtracks which is a shame - it would be akin to being unable to judge a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack really although I can play those! Dialogue is crisp at all times, with the sound effects being well used in the latter part of the movie, particularly when you can hear screams and such like from other rooms being played behind you. It's again not a reference sound track but it is effective enough.
Extras
Nothing at all. Well, unless you classify scene selection as an extra.
Well Cabin Fever was a horror that descended into a farce, this was a farce that ascended into a horror, but for me it was far too little, far too late and all too familiar. Some people like this but I'm lost as to why. Maybe Roth should either make a comedy or horror and not some bizarre combination of the two which fails on both levels. If he really wants to do a horror comedy, he should watch Evil Dead 2 and learn how to do it properly.
