Dogville DVD Review
SRP: £26.98

Picture

Dogville is a high-quality 2.35:1 transfer with zero errors and little noticeable edge enhancement. Colours are crisp and accurate and detail is very high. The one stage with simple lighting was not a real test for the camera but night scenes did mean a high amount of black on screen, thankfully black level was excellent as was shadow detail

Sound

The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is barely used since Dogville is made up mainly of dialogue and gentle background music with the odd sound effect to replace the lack of a real door to slam or piece of wood to drop. Dialogue was importantly well detailed and clear.

Extras

Not much here I'm afraid, an original theatrical trailer and director commentary are the only features to be found. Director commentary is actually very interesting, but another three hours viewing...
Dogville
Highly Recommended.
