Blue Oyster Cult Movie Review

Hop to

The Blue Oyster Cult possess a back catalogue of the cleverest and most disturbing rock songs. Sadly, this 2002 concert finds them at a low ebb, the effect of their creepy genius diluted by a deadly mixture of inertia and old age. The last thing we wanted to see was Buck Dharma looking like a reject from League of Gentlemen's Crème Brulée, but there it is. Songs include Harvester of Eyes, Flaming Telepaths, and Don't Fear the Reaper. This non-anamorphic widescreen transfer is a tad dark and crawly, although the (DD 5.1 or DTS) sound has lots of bass. Extras include random behind-the-scenes footage, as well as band and fan interviews.
