American Pie: The Wedding Movie Review
You either love or hate the American Pie movies with their vulgar humour and dysfunctional characters. If you are like me then you will welcome a third film to the collection, reintroducing the characters as they leave university and ultimately for two, get married. Jim (Jason Biggs) finally proposes in a hilarious scene at a restaurant to Michele (Alyson Hannigan) who is on her knees (and under a table). Once she says yes it's onto the planning of the wedding and trying to keep the news away from Steve Stifler (Seann William Scott).

However all does not go well and it's not long before Stifler discovers the truth and wants in on the wedding. There is another problem as Michele's sister Cadence (January Jones) arrives for the wedding and sparks love in the hearts of Finch(Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Stifler who battle to win her affections.

There's not much else to the plot but there are some classic scenes with Stifler taking on a Gay guy called the Bear in a nightclub dance off, the Stag Night which goes pear shaped, the wedding hair cut and Stiflers romance in the laundry cupboard. Yes some of it is predicable but what wins you over are the very funny script, the characters and the situations they get into. Seann William Scott has taken Stifler to new heights within the movie here; with his high energy vulgarity and lust for you know what, stealing the show.

The DVD features both the theatrical and the unrated versions of the movie using seamless branching technology. This may cause some problems with older players but I found no problems with both versions on my Onkyo THX player.

Not a classic movie and maybe not quite as good as the second, but American Wedding is worthy of two hours of your time.
