Alien DVD Review
SRP: £19.99

Picture

If you're searching for one of the best-looking Region 2 DVDs currently available, look no further. This disc is a text book example of how an immaculate transfer should look. The impact of Kane's fate is made all the more horrific by the amount of fine detail granted by the image on this disc.
Alien

Sound

The Dolby Digital 5.1 remix does a great job of bringing the film to life once again. Dialogue, music and sound effects all benefit from the exemplary treatment of the film, and the superior steering makes this definite demo-room material.
Alien

Extras

One of the most impressive discs available on the Region 2 market comes complete with a plethora of supplementary material. Via the superb animated menu screen, you can access original theatrical trailers, deleted scenes, outtakes, a commentary by Ridley Scott, artwork and photo galleries, original storyboards, the isolated music score by Jerry Goldsmith, and an alternative music score.
